The Founder and Executive Director of Practical Living Institute (PLI) is Dr. Barbara J. Davis. She is an international conference and retreat speaker. She has a Doctorate from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Arts degree from Michigan State University. She has traveled to over 40 countries in North America, Europe, Asia, South America, and Africa. Barbara has worked extensively with women in Sierra Leone, Ghana, Senegal, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania and Egypt. She served as the Project Coordinator for the W.A.D.E.R. Program for homeless women in Prince's George’s County, Maryland. Barbara has received many awards and recognitions. Senegal, West Africa honored her for her work in helping its citizens to excel. She received the prestigious Delta Sigma Theta Fortitude Image Award for her work in international awareness and involvement. Rotary Club International honored Barbara for her international work in South America and Africa. Barbara also received a Proclamation by the County Executive of Prince George's County, Maryland for outstanding service to the Senegal Friendship Committee of Prince George's County. |
